Review // Masterpiece Donuts

Usually when I get donuts they fall into one of two categories, fancy donuts and fast-food donuts. The fancy donuts usually have some sort of fruit on them, like to take local flavors and are genuinely creative. Fast food donuts are diabetes on a donut, usually flush with lots of sugar on a glazed donut, fried, and most often than not, topped full of candies.
Happy to report that Masterpieces is a hybrid of sorts. The donut itself is made-to-order so there is a ‘crunch’ when you bite into it. I ordered the Klimt and the Renoir.
The Renoir had higher quality cocoa puffs, with a raspberry glaze over what tasted like nutella. The Klimt was like a s’mores donut in my mouth with the marshmallow glaze.
The place itself is not what I expected. I thought it would be a ‘come-and-grab-your-donuts’ type of place,  but I actually ended up hanging out because of relaxing atmosphere. They really try to cultivate an artistic theme, not just from their artist-inspired donuts, but also from the local artwork on the walls from Arcadia High School, and local artwork from various artists selling their work, too.
I didn’t get a chance to try the coffee, but I’ll be back!
