When we first arrived at Mountain Shadows, I immediately went into relaxation mode. Luckily, the hotel wished us a warm welcome with a bottle of champagne, and we excitedly popped that bottle! I had a glass of champagne on the balcony, and enjoyed the views of Camelback Mountain.

Everything is better in the mountains, and with two, large pools facing Camelback Mountain on both sides, it’s impossible not to fall in love with the views. While cooling down in the 110 degree heat, I was able to dip in and catch rays of sunshine in solitude; pure bliss on a Phoenician, summer day.

I returned back to the hotel to read a book and just relax. Mountain Shadows is a sense of being, a sense of zen. I fell asleep in the comfy bathrobes they provided while dreaming sweet dreams in the plush bed. I can’t wait to come back!
