Brunch Review // Snooze Circle Records
One of the first restaurants I heard about when I moved to Phoenix, was Snooze. Their reputation traveled from friends from Colorado and California! So it was my pleasure to check out their newest downtown location, Snooze Circle Records, right on Central and McKinley.
We started off with drinks. Snooze has cold-pressed juices like the Essential Greens, celery juice, cucumber, spinach, lettuce, kale, lime, and parsley whose refreshing ingredients wake you right up. I loved that they also served up iced Matcha Lattes, my kryptonite when it comes to delicious lattes!
Devouring brunch was easy, especially with the shareable Pancake flight. Did you know, you can also substitute one of the pancakes with the OMG! French Toast? I highly recommend opting for this. We ordered the Blueberry Danish Pancakes, and with sweet lemony cream cheese filling, it tasted just like a Blueberry Danish! Then the Sweet Potato Pancakes, (which sounds weird but tastes amazing), drizzled in the house-made caramel sauce, we wish we could have seconds. Finally the OMG! French Toast, literally, made me say “Oh My God!” The fluffy brioche is stuffed with mascarpone and topped with vanilla crème, caramel, fresh strawberries and toasted coconut. They were just amazing!
I also ordered the “Benny Duo”, which included two different kinds of eggs benedicts. Snooze has several variations of Eggs Benedicts, but I believe the Chile Verde Benedict highlights our local, Southwestern flavors. I chose the barbacoa, and it was smothered in green chile sauce and hollandaise, plus pico de gallo, and of course the poached eggs – muy bien indeed! For my second “Benny” I ordered the Bella! Bella! Benny which included prosciutto, cream cheese hollandaise, and balsamic glaze. I enjoyed the medley of flavors on this one, and thought the cream cheese and balsamic glaze paired especially well.
Overall, I loved visiting the newest Snooze location. I can’t wait to go back for more OMG! French Toast!
