Phoenix Staycations // Marriott Phoenix Chandler
With the holidays right around the corner, I took an opportunity to escape the madness - or so I thought! - by escaping to... Chandler! Chandler, a mere 15 mins from my Tempe home was filled with delightful surprises.
I kicked off my 24-hr escape by checking into the Marriott Phoenix Chandler. I was warmly greeted by the staff and a towering Christmas tree in the lobby. My room was spacious and I sunk into the comfy pillows and bed with ease. I especially loved the M Club, a lounge where I could get snacks, water, breakfast and anything to satiate my belly. Right across from the M Club was an in-hotel Starbucks so I could get my caffeine fixed (I needed them badly).
I met up with my girls Cassie (Explore With Cassie) and Jasmine (@JasmineVenturesAZ). We had a full itinerary thanks to our friends from Visit Chandler. Our first stop of the day was to do free yoga in the park. We went to A.J. Chandler Park in Downtown Chandler. With the sun shining, the yoga teacher, (@yogajeanee), led us through a relaxing flow that stretched my spine and opened up my hips. We then went over to check out the tumbleweed Christmas tree (artistic and impressive!) and the friendly vendors.
Afterwards we were famished for lunch, and after another pick me up from the Starbucks at Marriott Phoenix Chandler, we ventured to eat lunch at Las Palmas. We got street tacos, for me I got the Mahi Mahi and the Barbacoa.
With full bellies we were ready for Sipping Santas! What is Sipping Santas? An amazing bar crawl throughout Downtown Chandler where participants dress up in their very best, and hilarious, holiday outfits. We bar hopped from Crust, where we got amazing Cranberry Mules, to West Alley BBQ, where we drank Eggnog Cocktails. We linked up with Sheryl from @GoChandlerAZ, dabbling in cigars at the cigar lounge, Puro, before heading to The Perch. The Perch has actual birds in their bar and that night they also had Santa! We went to a brewery, QuartHaus, afterwards, and the Haus Warmer tasted like Christmas in my mouth!
Our last stop of the night before heading back to the hotel was The Living Room. I’ve been craving a great Patty Melt, and admittedly have tried a few ‘meh’ ones in the past, but this was perfect! Gooey, cheesy perfection. I ordered sushi as well, and it hit the spot!
We returned back to the Marriott Phoenix Chandler, and it was the perfect place to come home to. I ordered my breakfast in bed for the next day, and when it arrived the next morning, I devoured it in my big fluffy bed. I was even able to work out in the gym, early, and the hotel staff gave me props. The 24-hours went by fast, but by the end of my staycation, I’m totally in love with all that Chandler has to offer!
