Event // New Brunch at French Grocery
Recently the French Grocery started to host brunch! Excited, I went in to taste the new menu.
I started off with a French Press coffee with a cup of bacon. Yes, a cup of bacon! This bacon was no ordinary bacon, but was covered in pecans, cinnamon, and brown sugar. If you love your sweet with your savory, you’re going to love this bacon. The coffee was also fresh and delicious and I loved pouring it from its French Press pot.
The first entree to try was the Bananas Foster French Toast. This glorious entrée came with four thick slices of homemade bread, with fresh whipped creole cream cheese. I could eat that whipped creole cream cheese forever! Along with bananas foster sauce, the bread was dripping in sweet goodness.
Next was the French Benedict, which was basically an Eggs Benedict along with asparagus and tomato. The hollandaise sauce was great, and is truly what made a classic breakfast dish elevated. The asparagus and tomato were nice touches, sautéed in what tasted like sweet vinegar.
Finally, I had the Croque Madam. I personally love Croque Madam’s because I am a huge fan of gruyere cheese and ham, and the egg on top is always a bonus. All my favorite ingredients were in this one, and with a plentiful helping of gruyere cheese, this one also hit the mark! All in all, a wonderful Sunday brunch. I’ll be back!
